Second place at CGPL

Legacy Esports, CS:GO, Cyber Gamer Pro League

Legacy CS:GO has taken home second place in the CyberGamer Pro League 2018 Winter Finals, in a hard-fought series against the Chiefs Esports Club.

Played in front of a packed crowd at the Anime and Video Game Convention in Adelaide, Legacy began the campaign up against SYF Gaming.

After an 8-0 start, the team’s momentum lapsed and SYF came roaring back into the match.

Fortunately, skill won the match and Legacy took the victory 16-12.

In the qualifying match for the Grand Final, we took on the eventual champions Chiefs ESC and just lost a close game, falling 11-16.

Legacy smashed Avant in the losers qualifying match, taking the first game 16-4 and the second 16-2 to advance to the Grand Final.

Due to the earlier loss to the Chiefs, the Chiefs started into the Best-of-5 with a 1-0 advantage and as a result the fight was going to be even tougher for Legacy.

After a nail-biting 7-8 first half, the Chief’s managed to gain momentum and took the first match 10-16 to go up 2-0 in the Grand Final.

With their backs against the wall, Legacy got off to a sizzling start in game three, leading 10-5 at the break, but a resurgent Chiefs line up roared back into the game and won out 16-13.

The boys deserve praise for a solid performance against very strong opposition.

They took home second place and $3500 in winnings.
