Legacy Esports’s new look Overwatch team has done some major bonding recently, meeting up for a five-day long bootcamp.
Team members Straawbella, Cinderella, Caramelkoala, Skull, Wuvo and Dench, along with support staff Volt and Racquet, stayed in the same apartment and trained every day from 1pm – 1am in the Net Café VIP room.
Every day they would cook breakfast together, and would go out for meals, spending quality time as a team.
Although 12 hours of training every day sounds like a long time, team captain Straawbella said it didn’t seem like half a day.
“It actually went by pretty fast with the team,” she said.
One afternoon, Legacy booked them into a Virtual Reality room called Mind Horror as a teamwork activity.
“It was a good event for us that required everyone to work as a team in order to reach the objective,” Straawbella said.
“There were plenty of puzzles and nothing could be done alone.”
“We managed to complete it more than five minutes under the average time.”
Straawbella said the bootcamp was really beneficial to all eight of the team members involved.
“The bootcamp helped us all get to know each other, become comfortable around each other and become better friends,” she said.
“Trust is obviously very important within a team environment and it’s clear internally that we are on the right track.”
“Legacy is about developing their players in game and out and this bootcamp has personally been my most favourite experience in my four years of competing.”
“I would 100 percent do it again and I am very appreciative to have experienced the bootcamp thanks to Legacy and the Adelaide Football Club.”
