OPL Split Two vs. Tectonic – Recap

Legacy’s League of Legends squad managed to ice down red-hot rookies Tectonic in week five of the OPL, despite a rough second game.

Game one was a story of two lanes.

Bot lane was a fascinating contest between Raid’s Swain and the opposing lover’s duo of Xayah and Rakan, but it was the top lane that stole the show.

Mimic, evidently sick of watching Claire get all the glory, picked the first Rumble of split two and ran a train all over Tectonic.

Punishing the Papryze’s Gangplank terribly in the early game, Mimic built a CS lead and got first blood at three minutes.

Despite a relatively slow early game that took a back seat to Raid’s Swain, Mimic turned on the jets at 30 minutes, catching Sybol alone in the jungle before securing a double kill at baron.

The rampaging Top laner then led the charge into Tectonic’s base, nailing down a triple kill to end the game.

Game two was memorable for all the wrong reasons with a battered Legacy managing to hobble over the line in an ugly, yet effective fashion.

Claire impressed, managing to drop Tectonics support trance (and everyone’s jaws) with an insane turnaround kill for first blood.

With Baron almost secured at 26 minutes, Legacy made one of the most questionable decisions of the season and walked out of the pit, gifting Tectonic the buff and an avenue back into the game.

But despite this, it was Raid who, after taking a backseat to Mimic in game one, strode into the spotlight and tore Tectonic apart at the seams.

His flawless Xayah performance (10/0/8) was Tectonics kryptonite as he secured kill after kill and delivered the x-factor Legacy needed to close out the game.

Legacy now face a big challenge against Order next week, as we look to lock in a top five spot ahead of the live finals at the Melbourne Esports Open in September.
