OPL Split Two vs. Mammoth – Recap

OPL Split Two, Legacy vs. Mammoth

Legacy’s League of Legends squad has dispelled any illusion that last weeks victory was a fluke, with a dominate 2-1 win against Mammoth Esports.

Game one was a statement of intent, as Legacy completely dismantled Mammoth in just 24 minutes, 11-0 in turrets, 15-2 in kills, and 4-0 in neutral objectives.

While everyone played phenomenally, it was Top Laner Mimic who starred, turning the tables on last split’s MVP Chippys.

Mimic scored first blood, solo killed Chippys twice, took first tower, turned around a 1v2 gank at nine minutes, and completely shut his opponent out of the game in a dominating effort on Poppy (4/0/7).

Game two saw a resurgent performance from Mammoth who fought back and beat Legacy in 28 minutes.

Mammoth Mid Laner Remind put up a dominant performance on Irellia (6/1/6) while Jungler Juves looked more comfortable on Skarner (2/0/9) and Chippys bounced back on Dr. Mundo (4/1/4).

But Legacy aren’t dissuaded easily, and game three saw crushing performances from Claire’s Ryze (4/1/5), Raid’s Lucian (3/0/5) and Only’s Olaf (2/0/4).

Playing a slower, objective focused style, Legacy took a clean Baron at 21 minutes, before an instant rotation to the bot lane saw them pick off Chippys.

When Mammoth attempted to flank the siege Legacy went for the kill, picking off Juves and Cuden before winning the resulting team fight to take the game at the 23-minute mark.

Next week, Legacy takes on the reigning champions DireWolves in what promises to be a spectacular series.

Will the boys continue their hot streak? Tune in this Friday, 7pm AEST on Twitch.tv/OPL to find out!
